So it’s May 1st and we are glad to Join and celebrate NLC; one of the largest trade union organizations in Africa (with 29 affiliated unions and about 4 million members) on such a remarkable day like this.
NLC as an umbrella organization for trade unions in Nigeria was founded following a merger of four different organisations in 1978: Nigeria Trade Union Congress (NTUC), Labour Unity Front (LUF), United Labour Congress (ULC) and Nigeria Workers Council (NWC). These affiliated unions were later restructured into 42 industrial unions. Its founding President was Wahab Goodluck.
